If this sensor fails, the ECU will display a P00160 error code. This means that the Crank Shaft is not in sync with the Intake Camshaft. It could also be a sign of a chain stretch or a jumpy chain link in the upper chain. However, the error code won't be displayed on its own without additional information from other sensors (G4 and G40).
Testing is a bit tricky because there are two connector pins, and they perform different functions but the most effective method to test it is to measure the resistance between the sensor and the ECU. If the sensor is operational, it should read approximately 1000 ohms. Look for signs of coolant or oil in the connector bay if you are experiencing issues with this component.
2. Injectors
Yesterday accelerating full speed from highway paytoll, I experienced massive power loss as if the engine was running out of gas or the injectors aren't firing at all. I took out the spark plugs this morning, three were soaked with gasoline and the 4th was dry. When i crank the engine, there are no sparks, I put a piece of tissue on top of each injector hole and the 3 that were drenched in gazoline jump out but the 4th stays shut. I inspected the ground connection on ECU pins 14/55/30/55/48/55/14/55/48/ I get 0ohm. I'm assuming the issue is in another place.
I also tried to reset the PID but with no luck. The car can start when the G28 is not plugged in and runs fine when it is plugged in however it has the intermittent misfire issue at higher RPM. The coolant sensor (G62) even when it is unplugged, shows temperatures of -49c. I also noticed that the oil gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bars when the actual pressure is 0.
I'm not sure what to do. I think I've all other possibilities out. However, i'm afraid that i might have missed something. If anyone has any ideas please share them! TIA!
3. Fuel Pump
The fuel pump of the g28 receives a signal from the RPM sensor.
