How to Replace an audi keys G28 Engine Speed Sensor

1. Engine Speed Sensor

If this sensor fails, the ECU will show a P00160 code which means the Crank Shaft and Intake Camshaft are out of sync and could indicate the chain is stretched or a jump link on the upper chain of timing. The code won't appear without the additional information supplied by other sensors (G4 or G40).
It can be a bit difficult to test because there are several pins on the connector, and they all have different functions. The best way to do it is to measure the resistance between the ECU and the sensor. When i crank the engine, there are no sparks, I put a piece of tissue on top of each injector hole and the 3 drenched with gazoline pop out, but the 4th one stays closed. I checked the ground connection of ECU pins 14,30, and 48/55. I found zero ohm. So i assume the problem is somewhere else.
I also tried to reset the PID but with no luck. The car will start when the G28 is not plugged in and it runs perfectly when it is connected but it still has the intermittent misfire issue at higher RPM. The coolant sensor (G62), even when unplugged, still shows an ice temperature of -49c. I also noticed that the oil pressure gauge in the cockpit is showing 2 bar, whereas the actual pressure is 0.0 if i crank up the engine.
I'm not sure what to do. I think I've all other possibilities out. But i'm worried that I might have missed something. Let me know If you have any suggestions! TIA!
3. Fuel Pump
The fuel pump in the g28 is activated by a signal from the RPM sensor. The GM-style sensor is identical to the G4 and both are used in the 80 100 200, UrS and RS2 cars so you can easily find one at a salvage yard or in a local parts store. It is easy to test them: simply put your DMM into resistance mode and test the distance between pins 1 and 2 (with the bump at the connector end facing upwards). They should be infinite Ohms.

Our 20vt turbo (3B, AAN, ABY and ADU) engines are equipped with an ECU that must know the speed and position of the crankshaft to make decisions regarding timing of the fuel injector, for example. Some of the symptoms of a failing G28 sensor include an inaccurate rev counter for the gearbox the gears are shifting faster than normal and/or a misfire when you are in gear. If you are experiencing any of these issues it is likely your sensor is deteriorating and requires audi keys replacement.
