The refrigerator is brimming with these, from an inside-the-door Keurig K-cup coffee maker to a clever water dispenser. But these flourishes don't mask mediocre performance, especially in the refrigerator's freezer and an ineffective temperature-controlled drawer. Since this refrigerator costs more, I'd expect higher quality.

Aside from that blip the fridge is a great choice. It boasts a spacious freezer compartment, which is quite uncommon in counter-depth French door refrigerators. Additionally, it holds a good amount of frozen foods as compared to similar models.

The fridge has 17 shelves and compartments. The fridge compartment has 18.5 cubic feet, which is the standard for a French-door refrigerator at this price. It has a decent-sized freezer in the left side. However, it's not the largest one I've seen.

You can alter the shelves in both compartments to create a a custom storage solution. The interior design of the GE PYE22PYNFS also looks attractive. The LED lighting adds an appealing accent. The in-door storage bins have a third shelf which can be folded down to store large items. The drawers have temperature controls that let you set them to Meat, Beverage or Deli settings. They're easy to open and close, although I found their plastic textured coatings to be a little difficult on the fingers.

The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator is equipped with a all the features you'd expect from a refrigerator in this price range with Wi-Fi and app support via GE's SmartHQ software. The app, available for iOS and Android devices allows you to control your fridge from anywhere in world, and it has numerous options for customization. It will also send you notifications when the door is left unlocked, when the freezer or fridge must be defrosted and when the filter requires a change.

It would be nice if the GE PYE22PYNFS had Precise Fill it's an option in other GE fridges that allow you to preset how many cups of water you'd like to pour out at once. It does offer a countdown on the fridge display to display how much water have remaining, but that's not as helpful as Precise fill.

Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

The Bosch french fridge door-door Refrigerator is a striking piece. It's designed to appear like a seamless piece in your kitchen. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also comes with a veggie compartment to keep vegetables and fruits fresher longer and dual compressors to ensure maximum food preservation. The ice maker is one of the best french door fridge with water and ice dispenser we've ever tested, and it produces a pyramid-shaped form of ice that is low in use of water. This refrigerator is a great option for households with a single member or kitchenettes looking for a sleek design and top of the line food preservation.

This fridge was rated the best in our Refrigerators Test for a variety of reasons. The freezer temperatures remained steady at a level that was just above 0 degrees Fahrenheit, and never moving by more than a fraction an inch. This is essential in preventing freezing burn. It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. The fridge is built with the standard French door layout, with two rows of shelves that can be used to capture spills and a set of crisper drawers. The top shelf on the right can be folded to provide more space for taller items. You'll also find a full-width drawer for deli items and an internal water dispenser.

One of the nice features of this refrigerator is that the Ice maker is located in the freezer, making it easy to move ice into the fridge to be used when it is required. The freezer is designed with thoughtful elements, too, like sliding drawers that can help you better organize the position of items. It comes with a large bin to store frozen food items, and a separate bin for ice.

Another great feature of this refrigerator is its Smart InstaView panel. You can control the temperature, lighting and other aspects of your refrigerator from your smartphone. It's a simple method to monitor your refrigerator and control it, particularly when you're away from home.

The Smart InstaView feature is neat but it doesn't improve the performance of the fridge. In fact it took a bit longer to defrost and chill foods in this fridge as compared to other fridges we tried. This is probably due to its larger capacity.

The doors are another problem with this fridge. They have sunken handles on the front that allow smaller people to open them from the bottom, however they're not easy for taller people to steer closed without slamming them. It would have been better if they had front-mounted handle.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX fridge is an excellent choice for those looking to blend the aesthetics of a French-door refrigerator with an efficient design. Its capacity is above average for a counter-depth model, and it cools evenly and has a great layout. It's also less expensive than the best counter-depth refrigerator that has an ice maker, which can make it an attractive option.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

If you're looking for an French door fridge that doesn't cost you a fortune, this Frigidaire is a solid option. It's a basic refrigerator which may not be as attractive as some of its competitors, but it still has enough features to make a an excellent option. Its main feature is the temperature adjustable drawer which helps keep food items like veggies and meat fresher for longer. It also comes with a large ice maker and a water dispenser.

Another feature that is worth mentioning is the "Chill Drawer" that sits over the two crisper bins. This drawer lets you redirect part of the fridge's cooling power directly to this area, which means you can store foods that need extra attention. You can adjust this feature by using the slider located on the in the middle of the drawer. You can also use this to set a general cooling setting for the whole fridge, but I've noticed that adjusting the generic settings tends to be more effective than specific ones.

During my tests, the temperature of the refrigerator were fairly consistent across all areas of the refrigerator. Temperatures at the top and bottom of the fridge didn't stray very far from 38 degrees, and even the middle of the fridge was within a degree of 36. This is a great performance however it doesn't make it into the top ten in our ratings.

This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. You can also pair this fridge with an intelligent thermometer to get more precise readings of your fridge's temperature.

The Frigidaire FGHB2866PF's exterior is made of grey-bodied stainless steel that has a "smudge-proof" finish. It does an excellent job of repelling fingerprints and streaks even when compared to the glossier stainless steel finishes on other appliances I've tested.
