World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Upgrades to items are a method to increase the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade you choose, it may increase an item's Rarity or Mark Level and increase other stats.

Upgrading gear in The War Within requires a set number of Flightstones and Crests Each item comes with an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a certain amount.

Item Level

The value of an item's base stats increases when it is upgraded. The value is the sum of the perks that are leveled up (attack magic attack and defense). The cost of upgrading items can be high dependent on the upgrader and what kind of upgrade you decide to make. This is due to the variety of perks that need to be altered to upgrade an item.

It is also used as a gating requirement when queueing for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It can also be used as a gating requirement when queueing for dungeons, scenarios, and raids, as well as to limit the amount of PvP gear that a player can wear (since PvP is capped at the lower levels). Players can see their average level of item on their character sheet.

When deciding whether to purchase or sell equipment players can look at the item level. It's a good indicator of an item's quality and the amount of damage it's capable of dealing with. Comparing items from the inventory of a vendor can be done by using the level of the item.

The item level can be seen by pressing the ALT key on PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will show the full description of the item, including its level. It can also be found by hovering over an item with the mouse cursor, and then typing /itemlevel into chat.

There are a few theories about how the calculation of the item's level is made. One theory states that the level of an item is calculated using a formula that calculates the worth of an item's stats actually are. It considers that different advantages are valued differently and that gems found in sockets increase the value of the item. This can lead to an item's ilvl which is calculated and is typically very close to Blizzards actual item level.

This isn't the only factor that affects the value of an item. The location of where the item was dropped may alter its stats. For example it can increase the item's haste or crit rating. This means that items dropped at higher levels will have more ilvl than those from lower-level instances.

Item Stats

Stats on an item are a significant element in what makes or breaks an item for players. The game uses a lot of them in different ways to encourage players to use multiple weapons, and to prevent one weapon from being "the most effective." The stat modifications of weapons boost base stats. These stat mods are then boosted by a player's level.

Upgrades to the item add by increasing certain stats of the item upgrader. The cost of upgrades is determined by the rarity of the item. For instance, a grey or white item will only be upgraded once, whereas an item with the rare levels will be upgraded multiple times at higher prices.

Affixes are another way to alter the stats of an item. They are stat boosts which can be added by the player to an item Upgrader mod. Affixes can be used to give the item upgrader additional damage, or add a unique capability to the Best item upgrade (such as reviving the dead or cutting down cooldowns) or make the item unique by putting an additional name to the item.

All affixes can be currently re-rolled by selecting them in the upgrade window, pressing the green button. It will cost a set amount in gold and items. These can be used as upgrade gauges as with other rerolling methods.

In addition to rerolling affixes, players can also choose which of the available stats to be kept on an item after it is upgraded. The possible stat ranges for an item are based on the level of the item, but every item is guaranteed to have at least 1 stat within the range, unless it is a unique item or a God roll from a boss in a raid.

This is another aspect that could be changed by introducing an option to upgrade the equipment without having to reroll the affixes or choosing which stats to boost. As with base equipment, it must be done per item and the interface for item comparison wouldn't display all possible stats simultaneously.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player boosts the chance of finding items as well as the properties spawned by loot and the intensity of these properties. It doesn't, however, directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It merely gives players a chance to acquire better equipment in earlier waves and is therefore more valuable in early game runs as opposed to later ones, since most players prefer greater weapon scaling and defense over the raw damage gain.

Luck can also boost the chances of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade probability that increases with each level of the item and can be further enhanced through the use of an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

The shields, armor and weapons have a default Luck value of 40. These items can be enhanced by golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the material of the item) to grant a further +40 Luck, or to increase the luck of an item up to 140.

Certain items, like the weapon with Hollow-infused components can also be crafted to increase the damage dealt by any ability that causes damage by 5percent. These items can be found in the shop or crafted with the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades are successful. Cash shop items can be used to boost the chances of success for an upgrade, or to protect players from losing their item if it fails.

The success rate of an upgrade is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage is the probability of successful upgrading an item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special Materials. The probability of success can only be increased as much, and the chance that an upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%..

The success of an item can be affected by the Luck of that item. All items have an average success rate of 25 percent, and every item with Luck increases the chance of success by five percent.

The upgrade overlays of the item are rendered above the items in the inventory. This can cause obscurity to enchantment effects or other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
