Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The ability to upgrade item items allows players to upgrade their weapons and equipment with new affixes, increasing its base stats or adding additional perks. To upgrade an item upgrade, the player needs to have it in their inventory and have access to the kiln.

Usually objects that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base, while items with strong bases like eth titans do not vary significantly in their stats after being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons trinkets, weapons and gathering tools. They give you an attribute benefit, or additional effect, when the equipment is being used. They can be purchased from vendors, gathered in loot, thrown away by enemies, or obtained as a reward from missions or chests. Certain upgrades come with additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level before you can upgrade.

To upgrade an armor, weapon or other item in the game, the player must select it and click the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview that shows the expected upgrade stats and the required component or materials.

There are three kinds: universal upgrades (which include gems) prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, like gems, are able to be placed on any type of equipment. They offer a lower bonus than upgrade components that have a specific type restriction. Infusions are gems that can only be used in legendary and ascended equipment. They provide the same benefits as jewels, but they cannot be used with any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add a suffix at the end of the names of items. For instance, adding the suffix Glyph will transform the staff wrapping of Minor Vigor a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If a player upgrades a gathering tool, and replaces glyphs with another glyph the previous one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace any other upgrade component the item will be destroyed, with the exception for the inscriptions that can be swapped freely.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade system differs from the previous versions in a few key ways. Gear is now broken down into tracks and items can be upgraded a specific number of times before they are "leveled out." The cost of upgrading is increased with each level, but the required materials do not increase as much. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a few items and maximize the impact of these items, rather than spreading upgrade costs over multiple pieces.

This allows the item to receive new upgrade components and a greater chance of success. This bonus is known as Artisan's Energy. It will reset to 0 if an upgrade fails or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

When a piece is upgraded to its highest level, it is able to get affixes to boost its attributes. The amount of affixes available is determined by the item's kind. For example an uncommon or unique weapon with a standard base will have only two affixes. A legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade item (Weheardit.stream) step will require an amount of Flightstones and crests based on the item's current level and the slot it's in. Typically, weapons will require more Flightstones to upgrade than other kinds of equipment.

If an item does not get to its maximum level, the NPC will give the player the option to transfer it to another character and re-infuse it with a different set of upgrades. This process takes up to two hours and costs the same amount of materials but will result in a lower chance of success.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is a vital aspect of the game and can dramatically improve an item level upgrade's strength, damage, or other attributes. It is possible to do this through the item menu or by pressing the Reroll button whenever you upgrade an item. Rerolling items can be expensive and should be done sparingly.

The game allows players to recycle upgraded items, and use them to obtain reroll tokens. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or another similar item. The game also comes with number sets that give a bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are placed on an unit. This is a great method to add a lot of power to a specific character without spending a lot of money.

Many players reroll their weapons and gear, especially in the early stages. Rerolling can help you get a more powerful character faster, allowing you to advance in the game and reach higher levels.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be arranged differently. They can be different sizes, contain no elements, or contain one element. They can be utilized to organize data or organize information. They can also be used to analyze patterns. Sets can be categorized in many ways, such as by size and shape.

Clicking the Upgrade button will display the attributes of the item and the items required to upgrade it. The item will be displayed with its attributes, along with the items needed to upgrade it. For example the No-mouth face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials, 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to find out the upgrade requirements for specific items.

In general the jewelry and weapons have greater value for trading when fully upgraded than armor. Particularly for weapons with damage glyphs that are spell-like or weapon-related, upgrading them to gold is recommended because it will give a substantial improvement in their stats. Weapons with an upgraded appearance will also benefit from this as its defense value will increase as it goes from purple to gold.
