How to Replace an replacement audi car key G28 Engine Speed Sensor

Charles the Humble Technician teaches how to replace the G28 Engine Speed Sensor. This sensor is located at the top of the transmission, above the flywheel ring gear. It transmits a signal the ECU via a grey wire (T55/49) which is then sent to the tachometer located in the instrument cluster.

The grey wire is situated at the edges of the transmission, above the flywheel ring. The sensor transmits a signal via the grey wire to pin T55/49. The ECU uses this information to regulate the amount of fuel and boost. It also sends signals to the G5 tachometer inside the instrument cluster.

The sensor is used as a reference to correlate with the G40 Camshaft Position Sensor. The ecu must be aware of when the crankshaft has reached TDC and also where the camshaft lies in order to activate the spark and injectors.

If this sensor fails, the ECU will show a P00160 code which means the Crank Shaft and Intake Camshaft are not in sync and could indicate chain stretch or a jumped link on the upper chain of timing. However, the error code won't appear on its own without additional information from other sensors (G4 and G40).

Testing can be a bit difficult because there are two pins for the connector and they serve different purposes but the most effective method to test it is to measure resistance between the sensor and the ECU. It should read about 1000 ohms when it is operating at its maximum. If you're experiencing issues with this part, check for signs of oil or coolant in the connector bay.

2. Injectors

Yesterday, while accelerating at full speed from the highway paytoll i had massive power loss like the engine is running out of gas or the injectors are not firing at all. I pulled out the spark plugs this morning, 3 were drenched in gasoline and the fourth was dry. I put tissue over each hole in the injector and when I start the engine without sparks, the ones that have gazoline pop right out. The 4th one remains shut. I checked the ground connection of ECU pins 14,30 and 48/55. I got 0ohm. I'm assuming the issue is in another place.

I also tried to reset the PID with no success. The car will start when the G28 is disconnected, but it runs fine with the G28 connected. However, the intermittent misfire problem continues to occur at higher RPM. The coolant sensor (G62), even if it is not plugged in, shows an ice temperature of -49c. I also noticed that the oil gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bar while the actual pressure is 0.

I'm not sure what to do, but i feel i have pretty much completely ruled out all other possibilities. But i'm worried that I may have missed something. Let me know if you have any ideas! TIA!

3. Fuel Pump

The fuel pump on the g28 is activated by a signal by the RPM sensor. The GM-style transmitter is identical to the G4 sender, and both operate on the 80,100,200, UrS, and RS2 vehicles. You can easily locate the spare in a salvage shop or parts store. It is simple to test them: simply put your DMM into resistance mode and measure the distance between pins 1 and 2 (with the bump on the connector's edge facing up). They must be infinite Ohms.

4. ECU

Our 20vt turbo (3B AAN, ABY, and ADU) engines are equipped with an ECU that has to be aware of the speed and position of the crankshaft to make decisions about timing of the fuel injectors, audi key replacement cost Uk etc. It utilizes a Crank Position Sensor G4 and an Engine Speed Sensor G28 to achieve this. If either of these sensors go wrong, you will receive codes on the diagnostic scanner which could cause engine shut down.

A failing G28 sensor could result in an inaccurate speed counter for the gearbox, a gearbox that shifts more quickly than normal, or a misfire in gear. If you are experiencing any of these issues, it is most likely that your sensor is failing and should be replaced. The good news is they are quite affordable and easily accessible, especially if you're looking at a Bosch sensor, which is what ours are. Alternately, the GM version of this component is also a good option.

5. Tachometer

A damaged engine sensor could cause a variety of issues within your vehicle. It is a crucial part of your audi key fob replacement car audi a3 key cover (https://images.google.be/)'s transmission, as it sends information to the ECU about how fast or slow the car's crankshaft is spinning. If the sensor fails, it will affect the performance of the transmission, as well as the rest of the car's components.

The G5 engine speed sensor is located at the outside of the transmission, above the flywheel ring gear. It transmits a signal to the ECU at pin T55/49 via an uncolored wire. The ECU is then able to process the signal to control the flow of fuel, timig and boost, and also transmitting it to the G5 Tachometer located in the instrument cluster. You can test the sensor for failure by checking continuity between it and the tachometer, between the ECU pin T55/49 and the instrument cluster connection to pin T6a/1 (trace [79trace [79]) and between T6a/1 and the instrument cluster pin T26a/12. You should see the resistance to be around 1000 ohms between these points. This is the same across the audi key fob 80-100-200-RS2 model, ranging from the 1985 MC all the way up to the 1997 UrS AN and 1995 RS2 Du So, you may find some good ones in wrecking yards.young-couple-holding-the-keys-of-a-new-car-select-2023-04-03-23-35-08-utc-scaled.jpg
