The Smart InstaView feature is neat but it doesn't improve the efficiency of the fridge. In fact, it took longer to defrost and chill food in this refrigerator than some of the others we tested. This is likely due to the bigger capacity.

Another issue with the doors of this refrigerator. They have sunken handles at the front, which allows shorter people to easily open them from the bottom, however they're not easy for taller people to guide closed without slamming them. It would have been better to have front-mounted handles.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX is a ideal option for those looking to combine the advantages of a fridge with a french door fridge with ice maker no plumbing door with a more efficient layout. Its capacity is higher than average for counter-depth models and also cools evenly. It's also a bit cheaper than the top counter depth refrigerator that comes with an icemaker, which makes it a great option.

It has a simple design that's not as visually striking like some of the competitors however it comes with enough features to make it a solid choice. It also has a large water dispenser as well as a good ice maker that operates quickly.
