Study of Chinese Learners' Pedagogical Choices in Korean

Recent research has used the DCT as a tool to assess the skills of refusal among EFL students. The interviewees expressed concerns about the social pressures or consequences they might face if their local social norms were not followed. These findings suggest that native-speakers' pragmatic norms are not the default preference for Korean learners. They may still be useful for official Korean proficiency testing. Future researchers should consider reassessing the validity of these tests in different cultural contexts and specific situations. This will help them better understand the effects of different cultural contexts on the behavior of students and classroom interactions of students from L2. This will also assist educators to create better methods for teaching and testing Korean pragmatics.
