World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of weapons, armors and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as Crit chance and PvE Damage.

For example a weapon that has the upgrade template that ends in % will take on 3damage to attack each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost rises with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be put into weapons, armor, and trinkets to provide an extra stat boost or impact while they're being used. They can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors, trading with other players, or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be placed in equipment that has a slot for them; the item must be at a minimum upgraded to blue level in order for the component to be applied. Upgrade components, unlike other modifications, can only be applied only once. They cannot be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and enrichments are a special kind of upgrade component that is used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment as well as the non-ascended back items. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or completing a mission in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

A prefix or suffix may be added to an upgrade, which alters the name of the item it's applied to (for instance, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players make stronger versions of the equipment that require less Upgrade Crystals than are required to achieve the same upgrade level through normal methods.

A 'boost upgrade' can alter the defense or attack characteristics of a weapon or armor. These upgrades can be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed mechanic. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them from the cash shop, or by obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.

The player can get a maximum of five boost upgrades at a time; each upgrade increases the chance that a better-quality version of the item will appear during the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep upgrading their gear even if they're uncertain of the extent to which it will improve after a future reset.

The process of upgrading an item can be expensive and it is likely that the item will become obsolete, or even break, when the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed if the upgrade fails. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items that can double or even eliminate the chance of failure, as well as some upgrades that provide a bonus when reinserted into an item upgrader kit.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. Glyphs increase the power of all nodes in a radius around them and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways, and we recommend getting them up to level 15 whenever you can.

In the endgame, you will often find that the most effective way to upgrade your equipment is to use Glyphs. These are the only upgrade component which can be upgraded to level 15 and offer a significant boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

Glyphs, which is the only upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and then replaced again are the most commonly used. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and replaced by using the aid of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of the Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use, and during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

When you have the desired Glyphs then you have to attach them to your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a special bonus that boosts the stats of a specific set of nodes in a radius surrounding the Glyph. This will either be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats, based on the Glyph.

Glyphs will increase the number of nodes connected to them, so it is recommended to place Glyphs in the most important places on the Graph. This will increase the impact. Druids, for instance should put their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may also consider placing them near their critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The item upgrading system allows players to improve the performance of certain items by placing upgraded components in them. This is referred to as "upping". Every upgradeable item has a level that determines its upgraded stats. Upgraded items may be leveled to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each item level requires different components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.

Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained from finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or on the upgrade tab in a crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed earns a number of Technology Points. These points can be used for upgrading an item. When enough points have been earned you will be able to claim the upgrade and also receive the bonuses.

When the player upgrades an item to a higher level, the original item is replaced with a new item of the same type. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item also has its own set of bonuses. This can be a downside in that the item could be more expensive even if you don't need it.

If the player has enough tokens they can roll the upgrade of their item. This will cause the item to be exchanged for a brand new one, with an initial level and a completely different set of bonuses. This is a good idea however it should not be used frequently as it can waste resources.

Certain upgrades can increase their value and allow players to personalize their gear. A good example of this is Dolphin's Gift, which gives a buff when the player repeatedly enters and exits water (or is able to swim like a dolphin). The item can be upgraded multiple times, increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This Best item upgrader is extremely valuable in PvP, as an item that is properly rolled it can be worth between 20 and 50 times its non-upp'd value.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to increase the quality of their equippable gear--armor, weapons and trinkets above ilvl 385--by offering the appropriate items and currency to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also boost the defense of the base set, while upgrades to weapon items increase the damage they deal as well as their strength and dexterity.

Each item can be upgraded a maximum of five times, with the exception of hero gear that can be upgraded with eight upgrades. Every time you upgrade an object it has a chance of failing. The rate of failure increases as you move beyond the maximum number. Failures can cause the item to go to its initial state, requiring the player to spend more money on materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the highest number of upgrades.

If an item does not upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it earned like chances to be crit, attack damage, or other effects (such as increased heal over time or reloading speed). However, the player can continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to the highest. This means that if a weapon gains an increase in the chance of crit, the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. A new attribute known as Slots has been added to the item's definition and the value is calculated each time an upgrade is made.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is based on its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equivalent to the value of the base item. For example an item that is commonplace could have five upgrades at a cost. 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero quality items have lower costs per upgrade.

Premium items may have different upgrade requirements than standard gear. For example they may require less sowels, however they may require more minerals and orons. However, players will have to visit the NPC [ArmorBoboko in Central Flarine. Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs listed above, each equipment upgrade requires the use of different upgrade ingredients.
